Hosting Infrastructure

Ultimate Hardware and Networking Equipment from IBM, HP, Cisco

Servers:
IBM x336 and x346 series, Dual Xeon Processor (server info on IBM.com)
HP DL360 G5 series with Intel Xeon Processors

Backup System:

IBM LTO / Veritas Backup Exec 9.0

Network Switches:
Cisco Catalyst

ASP-One is an early adaptor of Microsoft Windows .NET technology and Active Directory, and we built our data security around those platforms.

Prime IBM and HP Servers

Our production environment utilizes top-of-the-line, outstanding performance servers, including the rack-mounted IBM xSeries and the HP DL series.
  • IBM x346 with Dual Xeon processors used as Exchange and Web servers
  • HP DL360 G5 servers used for the front-end components, such as OWA, SMTP, DNS, and Domain Controllers
Stand-alone servers and server groups configured in a load balanced "farm" provide web services. All web servers run IIS on Windows 2000/2003 servers, and Windows application servers grouped into farms operate Windows Server 2003, Terminal Services, and Citrix MetaFrame.

Backup

Nightly tape backup to IBM LTO devices enhance security and dependability.

Redundant Internet Connections Through Tier One Providers

ASP-One connects to the Internet via redundant central hubs from MCI-UUNET and AT&T.

Power and Environmental Control

The IBM data center has redundant power feeds, battery backup for brief interruptions, and diesel generators for extended power outages. A redundant HVAC system maintains temperature and humidity.

HTTP/SSL/MAPI Encryption technology

Our Biz@Large portal and hosted web applications can be accessed via standard HTTP, or using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Hosted Windows-based applications are accessed via the Citrix ICA protocol, which has encryption capabilities. RPC over HTTS is also available to connect Outlook 2003 clients running Windows XP to the Microsoft Exchange 2003 Servers in secured mode.

Network Security with Managed Firewall and VPN On-Demand

Cisco PIX 535 dedicated firewall/VPN appliances protect our servers. ASP-One can also offer immediate VPN connectivity for enhanced secured-data transactions.

Local Area Network with Cisco Catalyst Switches

ASP-One uses Cisco Catalyst switches with Gigabit connections to each server and gigabit (one billion bits per second) links between core switches. We can also run gigabit connections to individual servers if network traffic is heavy.
